「南極」の面がへたらないように
道具土をまるめて、おいた、ら
そこが、焼き締まっていく「身体」ささえて
やわらかい凸になっていた

はたして.........よっ！！
持ちあがったア

I was most concerned about the top, and so
put high-fire coarse clay balls to support
I was so relieved to find the balls created 'gentle slopes'


抱きしめたい
この深い青の地球

火よ、ありがとう

I just wanna hug this 'Deep Blue Earth'

Fire, I thank you.
Fire, I respect you.

気がついたら、葉っぱだけ・ニシキウツギ

It has flowers that open white and age to rosy-red.
Both white, pink and red flowers can be on the shrub at the same time.

鞘をふたつ重ねた上に道具土玉をおいて
うー、よいしょっ
かぶせることができた
さあ、焼けるか

それにしても
なんと力もちになったことか

To my surprise ?
I managed to lift the heavy piece and
place it over the saggars which would support the top of the cube

どんなにか気持いいだろ

太陽じりじり・トマト畑
青臭い厚い果肉・種の酸っぱいゼリー・なつかしい

いつのまにか「人当たり」がよくなりすぎた野菜たち
だが、丸かじりするだけで
なんだかワイルドなごちそう

biting into a tomato--the flesh and jelly-like fluid around the seeds
a feeling of wilderness, which is a treat to myself

体験教室の作品に釉薬をかけた

それぞれの制作ノート見ながら
外へ運んでは、コンプレッサーで、希望の釉薬をかける
ひとりひとりの「たいせつな森の時間」を、しあげていく

梅雨・ひとり巣作り女王蜂-beehive/sieving glaze

こんなたよりない枯れ草の茎で
だいじょうぶなの？
フタモンアシナガバチ（約 2cm)　Polistes chinensis


ハチ目　細腰亜目　スズメバチ科　アシナガバチ亜科
女王バチが単独で巣作り。働きバチが羽化すると労働は全て働きバチが行うようになり、巣は飛躍的に発展。

蜂の社会は、ちゃんとワークしてる、ようだ
わがままいわないのかな、人間と違って
しかし、ゴールがいっしょ、ってのはねえ

Bees seem to live in a very organized society
They do not act in a way that shows any awareness of self interest.
Unlike bees, we do not share the same goals

長石や木灰....を調合して
100メッシュで漉す
不思議なんだけど
台所しごとより、ていねいな気がする

けさは2時半から、窯焚き（素焼き）
14度、きのう梅雨入り、が、雨上がる

サブっ！蕎麦がき、でしょ-buckwheat dumplings

もう六月、だというのに
アラジンストーブ・つける
となれば、土鍋をかけたい
で、醤油味「チキン+細切り昆布」スープを煮込む

いよいよ、いただいた臼挽き蕎麦粉を
熱湯で練り上げ、スプーンですくって湯に浮かべる

碗に、スープとそばがき、と
薬味（海苔、ネギ、紅生姜--新生姜を梅酢につけてつくってある、山葵）
やわらかくって、もちっ
savory 'soba -gaki' with a fluffy, slightly chewy texture in hot broth

この季節、「冷やし中華」のはずなんだけど、ブルっ
it's still cold for this time of year, and so I decided to turn on the stove.
Now, what to put on top of it? 'Chicken soup' for soba dumplings!

工房でも、フレッシュハーブティー、朝焼きのビスケット添えて

午前：稲城の陶芸クラブの8名が、いらっしゃって
稲城の「土」の焼成実験結果（今回は梨の枝をいただく）をみながら・談笑
渡辺さんに会う度に新しい発見ができます。メンバーも今までと違ったセンス
で作陶が出来ると思います.....梨の釉薬作品が出来ましたら、是非伺いたい.....稲城の土......良く特徴がわかりましたので更に工夫をして利用してみたいと思います。

午後：陶芸体験のグループ、電動ろくろ+手びねり制作して・談笑
サンフランシスコで、Bob Dylanを聴いた、ってな話も飛び出す、イイナア！！
いまも毎日のようにコンサートで歌い続けてるらしいディラン、すごい

鞘で、貝殻と焼いた「緋色猪口」でいただく、「香り」の茶、ほっ

ラッパが聞こえたら、お鍋をもって

魚屋さんがきたら、お皿をもって
目の前でお刺身にしてもらう

こないだまで、はね

いまでは、便利なパックづめ
ボトル、トレー、袋、箱
「便利」も、買って、ゴミだらけ----「過剰」なんだ

the Earth used to be fertile, but our desires have become excessive

青い地球に、かつて、いろんな生き物がいた
が、人間だけが道具をつかって、食べ尽くした
海も大地もやせて、白骨化している

けど、もしもまだ、まにあうとしたら、
小さないきものたちの気配、を感じて
教えてもらう、こと、かなあ

これが、三つの地球のコンセプト--ただいま乾燥中

--fertile earth/eaten up earth/barren wasteland

If it's not too late, we should feel and listen to
"tiny life" in the soil, water.......

モッチリ・カリッ・餃子の具-homemade gyoza

なんといっても餃子はうまい
とはいえ、具は、たんびに違う

これは
豚の細切れ→ミンチがなかったので細かく切る
竹の子
キャベツ
青ネギ+庭の三つ葉
春雨
麩→手で砕いて、水分調整に
帆立出汁（粉末）+根昆布（粉）+胡麻油+醤油+片栗粉+生姜+ニンニク+胡椒

chopped and mixed ingredients for gyoza (fried dumplings)

皮もつくればいいんだろけど
買っちゃう・「薄い大判」

具をたあっぷり
包めない？くらい、のせて
皮をとじてく、と
でっぷり餃子





それまでは逆だった、けど
ある時から、お湯が先で、油があと

鉄のフライパンにつきっきり
いい焼き色になったら、ほら
「かりっ」「ムチッ」

残った具は、ミートボールにして、
焼いといて、たとえば、酢豚ふうに

皿：半磁器土に透明釉・10年使うと、うつわが育って、貫入が景色に
I made this plate ten years ago. It has aged nicely with the cracks.

いつのまにか、溶けちゃった
けれど、春霞、でもない

おととい、4,000人が自転車で
標高差1250m、富士山五合目まで
24kmを「ヒルクライム」した、という

Mt.Fuji snow has almost disappeared.
Spring mist has not yet arrived.

採取土石を、乳鉢で砕いてふるって
▲調合（土石1：福島長石1：合成土灰1）

豆乳の空きボトルにラベル
釉薬のテストピースの準備

整理をして、はじめて、資料になる
無用なものに、用事がある

crush collected rock, sand, and clay for glaze tests
mix with feldspar and fake ash, and put them in bottles
raw materials can produce data only when processed

土の作品をのせる、舞台、できあがり

lastly sprinkle seashell ash over the surface
Voila! Display boards for my clay pieces.

ゆらしみると、そうだ、ブランコ

もっと速く、もっと、と、こいだっけ.....

heave myself into the hammock
idly swinging, which reminds me of
how I winged on my swing, high toward sky and back again

前に採取してもらった土
そのまま練ってシーサーに、が
窯から出して数日後、おっ
な、な、なんと
崩壊しはじめた

どうやら、土のなかの石灰（炭酸カルシウム）のしわざ、
水熱反応による膨張か
local clay Sissa collapsed after firing
water and calcium oxide produced an exothermic reaction


こんどは宮古島粘土+九州粘土
600グラムいただいた、さっそく
ほら
シーサー、生まれたて
がんばれよ！

this time they brought me 'mixed clay',
which I used to form the body of sissa

hope these just born baby sissas will survive

ゆっくりと森が暮れる

mature full-bodied taste
deep sweetness dances across the tongue
early evening in the woods

Sさん・Mさん、若い山蕗摘みに
私もいっしょに、葉を落としながら.......
collected young butterbur in the woods with friends

皮をむく、切る、水変えながら、もみ洗い
米のとぎ汁で、さっと茹で、ザルにとる
油で炒めて、出汁醤油、酒と黒酢と水少々、薄味に
落とし蓋して、さっと煮含め、胡麻油たらして、できあがり

つまみながら、ちびっちびっ
熟成モルトに、シャキッとヤワラカイ？蕗のほろ苦さ

そうだ、といわれても
そうじゃないかも、って
よく、空想する

見たことがないので
私には、地球は四角でもいい

I often fantasize just about everything
about what is commonly believed

I've never seen the whole earth
to me, it's OK if the earth is/were square

歩いてて、ちっとも丸くない
生きてる、とは思うけど、ね

I don't feel the earth is spherical
I do feel it's alive, though

ほんとは、海の色を、よく知らない
この青紫を、海、と、きめていた
I don't really know colors of the sea
I've always decided the sea should be this
lapis lazuli, homemade glaze

蔓日日草
Periwinkle
常緑とはいえ、さすがに河口湖では、へたる
evergreen, though they disappear here in winter
が、強く命をふきかえす
but, surely come back

カタツムリ・自分史を背負う-snail carries herstory

カタツムリは「鈍い・ノロイ」のメタファー
Snails are used as a metaphor for slow movement
しかし、なかなかのしっかりもの
なにしろ「家」を背負ってるんだ
but, they are thrifty and independent in that
they carry their dwelling on their back

少しづつ建て増した渦巻きが、自分史
a snail carries herstory(history) on her back,
adding new and larger spirals to it

カタツムリカップ--カタツムリの釉薬は、那須の土と石を調合
snail cup--clay/rock glazes applied on snail

なぜだかカタツムリよりナメクジと出逢う
I see more slugs in my garden than snails

が、この朝はテントウムシ（太陽神・天道）
あっちの草むら、こっちの......
one morning
so many tentou-mushi, sun god insect, or ladybirds

丼・透き通った生しらす-'dohn-boo-REE' dish

どんぶり・ドンブリ・ドン
なんだかほんわか湯気が立つ

'dohn-boo-REE' sounds mouth-watering
I can see a bowl of piping hot, steaming rice

清水港の「生しらす」・めずらしい
どんぶり、で、いただいた　raw baby sardine on top of the rice

Donburi is a Japanese dish of boiled rice topped with meat, fish, eggs and/or vegetables and broth.

カツ丼（F食堂の富士桜ポーク）

Katsudon is served with tonkatsu (deep fried breaded pork cutlet),
egg and onions simmered together on top of the rice.





親子丼（F食堂の地鶏）

Oyako-don, literally "parent-and-child donburi",
chicken(=parent), egg(=child), green onion, and other ingredients
are all simmered together in a sauce and then
served on top of a large bowl of rice

"don" = a suffix to indicate a "donburi dish"
井戸のつるべ、で、丼、かあ
「井」の部首は「二」だが、「丼」の部首は「丶」、ふむ
「どんぶり」は朝鮮語の「タンバル」（湯鉢）、から？

in "sunomono" salad with vinegar dressing

We are highly aware of the seasonality , "shun", aren't we?

たしかに
みるみる、おおきくなる
Udo grows rapidly.

「うどのたいぼく」、かあ
ふうむ、けど、「役に立たない」役ってのも、ありかも

the expression ''Udo no taiboku'' (lit. great wood of udo)
is used to describe people who are tall but useless
an udo plant is long but has a very soft stem

useless person should have some indispensable role, I believe

やあ、こんにちわ、って
声をかけたくなるやつ、たとえば

くりっ、と、豆・取り出したあと
ぼんやり口あけた「さや」(about 35cm long)
とか
にょろり、あらわれる「青虫」

with no hesitation

caterpillar which comes into sight from beneath the pod



青虫と一つ残った豆に
なぜか水色の釉薬（「バリウムグリーン」と名づけた）を
筆塗りしたのだった、が
I instinctively chose a homemade glaze, which I named
"Barium Green" for the caterpillar and half eaten pea
when I looked at the bisqued clay piece

「blue caterpillar」で検索したら、あるんですねえ
ほんとに「青い」青虫？
I've just searched and found 'blue caterpillar'
in "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland"

あっ農鳥か、富士の残雪-snow bird on Mt.Fuji

雲のあいだから見えた
のは、きっと農鳥　(丸印)
it must be the Nou-Tori, farming-bird
some remained snow forms the shape of bird

真冬に一度現れた、のが、気がかりだ
はたして今年は豊作か
it's a signal for sowing or planting in the fields

想像力があればこそ、それは風景になる
The bird is composed of not only the remained
snow but also the imagination of the viewer.
The landscape consists of the both elements.

earth-cube のミニを参考に（2007/05/09のBlog）
大きなやつを造りはじめた
have started making much bigger earth-cube

叩いて叩いて、もっと叩いて、のばす
Wedged clay is pounded with hands until the desired size and thickness are obtained.



粘土ひもをつみあげる

ふー、やれやれ Well, done

問題は、むしろ、これから real problem is
20キロ近い、あぶない5面 this 20kg, 5 sided object
どうやって、どの乾きぐあいで立てるか　when and how to turn upside down

蕎麦ハチミツをひとさじ
パレスチナオリーブオイル
ココアとクルミ
を
ホットケーキミックス(+地粉少々)にまぜて
手のなかでにぎにぎして
焼けばできあがり

Easy Biscuits Recipe:
a spoon of buckwheat honey+Palestinian olive oil
cocoa powder+chopped walnut pieces+pancake mix

「ヒトデと貝」皿の裏がえし: backside of the seashell plate with starfish

ハチミツは好きなので　local honey collection
いまは、　蕎麦（諏訪）・アカシア（軽井沢）・もみじいちご（河口湖）
buckwheat/acacia/wild berry honey bottles in my kitchen

19世紀・江戸時代までは、蜂の巣を壊してコロニーを壊滅させ、巣板を取り出すして蜂蜜をとっていた
ハネムーン（蜜月）は古代ゲルマン民族が結婚後30日間、ハチミツ酒を飲む習慣があったことに由来。「ハチミツ酒」+「（陰暦の）月」=honeymoon

When humans remove the hive and take out honey, bees must be hungry.

the more we trod on them the more soft-hearted
