Osechi-ryouri, traditional Japanese
New Year foods, are usually arranged
in lacquer boxes. Why not a bowl?
The first dinner is "Oyako-don",
usually "chicken and egg" rice bowl dish.
Why not 'salmon and salmon roe'?
