アリゾナの赤砂の謎-Arizona Red Sand

はじめに、ナゾがあったわけじゃない
1230度の窯で焼いてみたら..........

Nさんにいただいたアリゾナの砂を
水を加えて固めて焼いた、のも
砂+調整+合成土灰(1:1:1)の釉薬も、
みーんな白い、なんでやー？？

I did'nt have a question in the beginning.
All the questions started kicking in after I fired the sand at 1230℃.
What happened to the "red" in the kiln?
Both of the the sand disk and glaze turned all "white"!

Sedona's rock formations are composed of basalt, sandstone, limestone and ferrous oxide mixed with the sandstone…giving the red rocks their brilliant crimson color. 赤岩：玄武岩+砂岩+石灰岩+砂岩と酸化鉄の混合→これが、赤くみえる

赤い縞模様の岩山は

セドナ周辺のレッド・ウォール石灰岩は約３億３千万年前、浅い熱帯海洋のそばで形成された。実際は灰色だが、その上層部にある酸化した鉄の堆積物（さびたような赤色）によって砂の一粒一粒が覆われ、赤く着色されている。

久しぶりに開いたアルバムは、Red Rock State Park---Montezuma Castle National Monument ........なつかしい！
いやはや、「根っこ」を、たどると、ナゾはどんどん深まる、ばかり
うれしいことに、私の旅は、たしかに続いているようだ
