地球はワリトやわらかい？-the earth's surface

那須の「石の美術館」で
ひょんな？ことから
「芦野石の粉」さしあげますよ、と
石切場に案内してくださった
わお！

At the stone museum in Nasu,
I asked the staff if I could get some local stone powder.
She kindly guided us to the Ashino-ishi stone quarry.

なんという見晴らし・雪の那須連山
「石を切って山がなくなったから」と
ふうむ、地球ってやわらかいもんでできてるんだ
nice view--you can sweep the Mountains (Nasu Go Hou),
because the hill itself is losing its form,
while the rock of which it is composed is being cut away.
Hmmmmm, the Earth seems to be composed of soft rock layers.

切り出した石をカットしたり
窯で焼いて、淡いオレンジ色の石材に
へー、焼くんだ！
stones are cut from andesite and even fired in the kilns
for orange colored building materials


トランクからシャベル
石粉と安山岩のかけら
いただいた
さっそく釉薬をつくったので
石もいっしょにこんどの窯焚きで

Thanks for scoops of stone powder and broken stone pieces
the rock glaze is ready for experiment

けさはマイナス3度に逆戻り。窯を200度まで温めた。きょうは素焼きの窯詰め。
