「水色釉」の発見-Bright Blue Glaze

体験教室の作品「かぶ」
釉薬を重ねてスプレー
焼成してみたら、
緑と白がとけあい細かい
貫入がきらきら水色の光

Green glaze turned very bright
blue on a white matte.

「creamy white」ねっとりした白
だからそう名づけたが、イメチェン
色は肌合いであり離れて存在しない

Layering glaze-over-glaze results
in the glaze melting and fusing into
unexpected and exciting pools of liquid glass.

瓶「点々と縞々」-Partially Reduced Copper Glaze

灯油窯の温度1000℃に達したころ
煙突の煙黒くなり、炎舞うオーロラ

At about 1,000℃,
I saw the flame flaring like aurora
and black smoke from the chimney.

いっときの還元状態（酸素不足）が
銅の酸素を奪い辰砂赤の手前、紫に

"Oxyde de Cuivre""Óxido de cobre"
Due to the momentary lack
of oxygen, the copper produced
a range of colors from purple to red.

口縁の弁柄も、鉄そのものに還る
にぶく光ってる鉄、いい、おやっ
のぞくと、爽やかに流れる、水色

善哉とむかし茶碗-Old Hand Painted Bowl

たっぷりと呉須を含んだ
だみ筆が、松や岩や波を
濃淡で描いてある、二つ
の欠け茶碗、見比べると
たしかに一回きりの筆跡

"Zenzai, sopa dulce de habas
del azuki con el mochi"
Chunky sweet bean soup with
kagamimochi(round rice cake),
New Year decoration.

鮭握り-Salmon & Gouda Nigiri

なにしろ「サーモン」好き
だから、わがままに三かん
ゴーダチーズ、相性いいぞ

"J'aime le saumon."
When I make 'nigiri-zushi'
at home, I like a 'huge' piece
of raw salmon layered
on top of hand-formed rice.
The cheese is a nice match.
Three pieces are enough for me.

バースデイパイ-Persimmon Apple Pie

パイ生地に黒砂糖茶さじ一杯
干し柿と煮リンゴで十分甘い

"Pâté en croûte fait maison"
"Empanada hecha en casa"
The fruit becomes much sweeter
when cooked or dried.
I added a teaspoon of brown sugar
to the dough, that's all!

サラダと焼締窯変-Yakishime Yohen Plate

素焼きした原土皿、いくらか
たわむように、サヤの赤貝に
さかさにのせ、密封して焼成

ほんのり緋色、どころか、モミ
炭、貝殻多すぎて、表面大暴れ
粗い砥石や紙ヤスリで擦ったが

"Yakishime"-fired without any applied glaze
"Yohen"--kiln changes

I placed the bisque fired plate upside
down on three seashells inside the saggar,
packed with combustible materials--
rice husks, charcoal, and seashells.

寛容の木-Ceramic Tree of Tolerance

Tolerance、「近世ヨーロッパ
の概念で、自分とは異なる意見
宗教、民族を、仕方なしに許容」
明治時代、翻訳にあてがわれた
「寛容」は、日本的にふやけ？ちゃった
"L'arbre de la tolérance"
"El árbol de la tolerancia"





If not tolerant, it would have faced more
problems and not survived so many years.

遺された「人のかたち」

「いる」のに「いない」
「存在」が、祈りながら
土撫でゆうくり生まれる

I love Jomon figures or big mamms,
which emphasize nipples and hips.
We see people seem to have enjoyed
a peaceful life in Jomon Jidai or period.

深鉢よりも平たい器がいい
なにより箸をのばしやすい

I prefer flat plates to bowls,
square 'tori-zara" (individual small plate
for picking up shared items), for example.

イギリスからようやく届いた Josep Maria Jujol 建築作品集 Tarragona の「青」で年の瀬 The book has finally been delivered to me so as to finish this year with "the sky blue'.

色もラインもいい気分

骨太くんとチョコケーキ-Handpainted Bakeware

小ぶりで角形の焼皿ほしかった
耐熱粘土板状にのばし縁おこし
両サイドにいつもの魚骨描いた

I wanted a small rectangular
baking dish, and so I used a
heat-resistant clay to make one.

板チョコ溶かし、ココアも加え
いつもの「人参ケーキレシピ」
Size: 23cm X 16cm X 5cm D
It has my typical "hone-buto, or
big bone" fish on both sides.

のほほんカエル-Ambiguous Colored Frog

こいつは、はっきりした色がいいな
と、釉薬に顔料（酸化金属）も使っ
たが、採取土をまぜた粘土と化粧土
では、まったりとした色合いになる
"Impuretés dans l'argile"
"Impurezas en la arcilla"
I wanted bright vivid colors.
But after all it came out of the kiln
with the calm natural shades
of colors as usual.

絵の具なら、混ぜた色がみえるが
土と釉薬、は、窯の炎で溶け合う
5-6種類の釉薬で想像の絵を描く
Some impurities in clay(commercial+
locally collected) give it varying colors,
or Tsuchi-Aji(literally clay taste).

美しい土石釉薬-Rock Glaze Landscape

採取したのは白っぽい
花崗岩類（左）と
粘土だと思ったが砂（右）
のはずだったが、
なんと、「深い森」と「新緑」

わずかな鉄分が気まぐれの
弱還元の炎に反応したのか？


The whitish granite-type rock(left) and sandy clay(right), which I collected
during mountain hike, have made
unexpectedly beautiful glazes.
Is it caused by a shortage of oxygen?

玉葱/ニンニク/エリンギ炒め
缶のイタリアントマトつぶし
鰯唐揚げしとくと簡単ベイク

Fry onion, garlic, mushroom and
deep-fry ""IWASHI" sardines coated in flour
add canned tomato/breadcrumbs.
It's a quick bake!

雨降りが、二日続いた
またカエル、浮かんだ
高さ9cm, 奥行き5cm
まだやわらかほやほや

"Grenouille d'argile"
"Rana de la arcilla"
A couple of rainy days
are long enough to
come up with this frog
'(hanging) vase' idea.


思えば、2007年、長雨の季節
つくった「旅ガエル」シリーズ
これは一匹め、旅に出ちゃった

The first piece of the "traveling frogs"
series I made in 2007.
It's actually gone away from me.

+生姜+ニンニク


"Carpaccio de bonite sobre el arroz"
Katsuo(Skipjack tuna)-tataki(roasted very rare)
carpaccio over steaming rice.

ガウディ設計グエル公園にある
弟子ジュジョルの、破砕タイル

広告紙に鉛筆描きして切り抜く
粘土板にラインうつしくりぬく



白っぽい採取土泥塗っとけば
釉薬の色の違い、遊べそうだ

I always remember "the bench"
in Park Güell, decorated with
shards of glazed ceramic tile.

I have come to know it's done
by Josep Maria Jujol, not Gaudi.
