オリーブ油+馬鈴薯+キャベツ+練った牛ミンチ
（押し麦水煮+ハーブミックス+パン粉）
を、二度重ね、キャベツで終わり
ニンニク醤油+湯をかけ
たまに耐熱ガラス蓋からのぞき
湯を足し、4時間、ストーブの上

Cooked on top of the wood stove,
the cabbage (+minced beef+potato)
became melt-in- your-mouth tender.
Thank you for the heat, which is slow and gentle.

Every year I start my work
by turning on the wheel.
I like hand-building, so I am
never good at throwing.
How does it look?
I'd like to put stew/soup inside the bowl
and cover it with bread dough and bake.

I wanted to use some locally collected clay and sand,
which happened to become figs/whistles.
I am now thinking about rock/clay glazes to be applied.

*蓋茶碗：「身も蓋もあり」
　土に含まれた「黒御影土」と「オリーブホワイト
　マット」と名づけた釉薬反応して淡いピンクになった。蓋も身になる。
　そうそう川喜田半泥子（かわきたはんでいし）の茶わん、白マットにピンク。

Ceramic bowl with lid, which can be used as two cups.
The white matt glaze turned pinkish unexpectedly.

As autumn deepens,
the purple blue has turned to sky blue
and then faded to pale blue.
This morning I woke up at three
and our digital thermometer shows outdoor temperature as minus 4℃.
They must be perfectly freeze dried.

So, use plates that contrast the food color, for instance.

魔法瓶に乾燥豆/袋半分+湯を充たす

煮汁が少なくなり、きび砂糖+海塩+醤油+黒酢
煮くずれず、ひと粒ひと粒、胸はってエッヘン



長さ30cmほどの豆のサヤ
に、食われた豆と青虫さん

Instead of soaking,
dry beans soften over night
in a thermal pot filled with boiling water.
Empty the pot into a clay pan.
Place it on the wood stove.
One day , and another day.
One bite will tell you slow cooking brings out 'flavor and tenderness'.

Recipe
牛乳 milk 100cc
玉子 egg 1
豆腐 tofu
ガラスープ（顆粒）chicken stock powder etc.

強火で1分+弱火（蓋に箸はさむ）で15分
Steam 1 minute over high heat.
Turn the heat to low and steam for about 15 more.

Animals bury seeds. I do too.
It's fun to wait and see if my seeds might sprout yet.
Some acorns, horse chestnuts, tea, camellia
survive this high elevation and are growing slowly.

がまんしてた、が、やっぱ直火
炎立たなくなったの見計らって

I let the fire die down to coals in the stove
and place a rye dough inside of it.
Making bread is an all day affair.
Now I see how much I depend on new technology.
There's no "heat controller."
I just keep watching.

Why not exploit the heat?
I devised a baking shelf using
kiln bricks and lava plate.
Many hours of preparation and 5 minute baking,
but it was well worth it. The crust was crispier than ever!!

「味噌」グラタン-Miso Gratin

にわかに「国産」「無添加」
だから「安心」だというのか
いいつつ、まんまと思うつぼ

信州の甘めの粗い白味噌
合うんだよね、牛乳と！

Gratin dish：design 'Sanma or Pacific saury' fish bone　8cmx20cm

I knew 'miso', fermented soy bean paste, goes very well with dairy products.
Firstly saute chopped cabbage, sprinkle flour and add milk and water
to make thin white sauce.
Add 'tofu' or soy bean curd, fresh scallop, spinach, shiitake mushroom.
Season with 'miso' and pepper, and thicken the sauce.
Put it into a gratin dish and bake.

日曜終了で展示替えか
韮崎大村美術館は休館
のぞきこむとスタッフ

「すみませーん、HPでは休館
って書いてないですよねぇ」
「もうしわけありません、更新してなくてぇ。
どうぞはいってください。梱包の箱置いてますけど..」　
「うれしいー、ありがとうございまァす。」

I drove 50 km to the museum.
The exhibition had closed the day before.
I looked into the door, and a staff noticed me.
"Your HP doesn't tell it's closed today...."
"I'm sorry for not renewing our website.
Please come in." "Thank you so much!...."
The pieces were still hung on the wall
as if waiting for me. 'Local flexibility', isn't it?

缶をすすいだ水も加え
さらにイカをさばいて
ワタ+バジル酢漬け+ハーブミックス
+塩+チリ+ニンニク醤油+チーズ加え

最後にげそ+身少々を加え
一煮立ち、パスタにのせる

You definitely need guts for squid pasta sauce.
They meet tomato and give the sauce a full, rich flavor.

登りはじめてまもなく
崖っぷち、あっこれか
じーっとみおろしてる

ひづめの先を広げて立つ
ニホンカモシカ（ウシ科 ）
大月市高川山(976)に始まり、三ツ峠山、御坂山、
鬼ケ岳、この王岳、本栖湖北岸の烏帽子岳
連なる山背を生きてるんだな

I heard a lot about Japanese Serow, Nihon kamoshika or goat-antelope.
Oh, finally I saw one on a cliff yesterday, when
I just started climbing Mt.Ou(King)dake
from Lake Saiko. She or he never moved and
looked down on us.

Agree.

It's always fun to work with guests in the class,
who are able to improvise and follow the flow of their creative energy.
I am ready to give a suitable minimum-support.

しっとり、ほの甘い

煮リンゴ cooked apple 1 cup
地粉 flour 100 g
重曹 Baking Soda　1/2 tsp Baking Powder 1/2 tsp
玉子 egg 1
甜菜糖 sugar 50 g
Olive Oil 4 tbs Cinnamon Nutmeg
Bake in the preheated (170℃) oven for 25 minutes.

It's apple season again.
The texture must be solid and bite cleanly.

ぎょっ、でかガエル-Big Toad

大雨の暗闇、もっそと動いた
姫ネズミ？よりずっとでかい

なんと、いぼいぼヒキガエル
12--3センチ四肢短くカメラ
とりに行けるくらい、のろま

いるのはわかってた、ついに

I started firing the kiln at 3:00.
Something bigger than a field mouse
moved in the dark, but not swiftly.
I rushed into the house, grabbed the camera
and rushed back out. I found it was
Azuma-hikigaeru-Bufo japonicus .

角材をあてがった

作品にはあらかじめ
穴ふたつあけてある
んで、銅線でループ

古い角材を切り
ヤスリをかけて
穴をあけ銅線通し
ネジをとりつける

I'm always looking for inventing
new ways of hanging wall pieces.
This time I used wood.
It can be screwed into, nailed, drilled and painted.

唐津絵土を焼く-Karatsu Clay

唐津の土を叩きのばし
信楽の鬼板を粉にして
森の花と虫描いてみた

玄界灘の風、が吹くその
町いつか行ってみたいな
　
I tried the clay of Karatsu,
which is is located in the northern part of Kyushu Island.
I'd like to feel the sea wind from Genkainada some day.
